f-gas regulations

Regulations have long been in force throughout Europe to reduce emmissions into the atmosphere of air conditioning refrigerant gases that contribute to global warming.

The regulations place a legal responsibility on the operators of stationary air conditioning systems to put in place a regime designed to minimise leaks. There are serious penalties for non-compliance, including hefty fines and imprisonment.

All of our maintenance contract customers are provided with a log of their air conditioning equipment where appropriate so that relevant systems can be leak tested at the correct intervals and the results recorded, ensuring that they comply with the legal requirements.

IMPORTANT CHANGES EFFECTIVE 1ST JANUARY 2017

Systems with lower amounts of refrigerant charge become subject to mandatory regular leak tests and contractors are also required to maintain records for 5 years. Naturally all of our maintenance contract customers, where relevant for them, will be kept informed and appropriate actions taken.

Independent information about f-gas regulations can be found at the DEFRA website.
